Kaidō

After the destruction caused by Tetsuo's explosion, Japan was fined and forced to bear the costs of rebuilding Tokyo, leading to a severe economic crisis. Austerity policies deepened social inequality, while Americanization eroded traditional values, leaving the population hopeless. By the 2040s, under extremist governments and amidst international conflicts, the country was on the brink of collapse. In this context, young descendants of a ruined Japan started a civil war by organizing protests against the government, reviving the Bōsōzoku subculture.
